With 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms, the I35 provides high current delivery and dynamic headroom for a wide range of loudspeakers. Despite its speed and precision, the sound remains smooth and natural, avoiding the sterility often associated with digital switching amps.

DM36 DAC Module

The optional DM36 digital-to-analog converter is a fully integrated module built around the ESS ES9068A chipset. It offers support for PCM signals up to 384kHz/32-bit, native DSD256, and full MQA decoding. The DAC also provides selectable upsampling for system tuning. Digital inputs include Toslink, coaxial, and USB-B for connection to streamers, transports, and computers. This module is included with the I35 DM36 and I35 Prisma versions.

SM35 Prisma Streaming Module

The Prisma module expands the I35’s capabilities with full network streaming. It supports AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and Chromecast built-in, with Roon Ready support coming via firmware update. Multi-room and multi-zone playback is accessible through the Prisma app, which offers control over playback from NAS libraries, cloud streaming platforms, or mobile devices. The SM35 module is included in the I35 Prisma configuration.

Design and Modularity

Clean lines, tactile controls, and a compact footprint make the I35 visually unobtrusive and physically satisfying to use. Finishes in black or titanium give it a refined look that blends well in modern and traditional setups alike. Internally, the modular structure allows for easy upgrades and servicing, and it ensures your amplifier won’t be obsolete the next time your listening habits change.

I35 Power Supply and Current Delivery

The I35 uses a custom switch-mode power supply with Active Power Factor Correction (APFC), delivering clean, efficient power to the UFPD 2 amplification stage. This power supply design provides stable current delivery into demanding speaker loads, maintaining composure and control even with low-impedance speakers that draw heavy current during dynamic passages. The amplifier delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms with consistent 26dB feedback loop gain across the entire audio bandwidth, ensuring vanishingly low distortion and ruler-flat frequency response. THD+N measures less than 0.009% at 10W into 8 ohms across 20Hz to 20kHz, while signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 100dB. Standby consumption is less than 0.5W, reflecting the efficiency inherent in the UFPD 2 platform.

Primare I25 & I35 Integrated Amplifier Video

Primare's Terry Medalen explores the I25 and I35 modular integrated amplifier platforms, their UFPD 2 amplification technology, and how optional DM25 DAC and Prisma streaming modules let you customize the system to your needs.

Explore More Primare Products

Complete your 35 Series system with these companion components:

Primare PRE35

Primare A35.2

Primare A35.8

Primare R35

Primare CD35

Primare DD35

The Listening Room Difference

We're a third-generation family business with a brick-and-mortar showroom in Chestertown, Maryland, and a reputation built on trust, not hype.
