Rega Ania Moving Coil Cartridge

The Rega Ania is a stunning moving coil cartridge that represents a new entry point into the world of high-end analog audio. Built by hand in Rega's custom facility, the Ania draws directly from the company's acclaimed Apheta and Aphelion cartridge designs. It is engineered with a focus on simplicity and performance, utilizing a unique, ultra-low mass generator and a precision-wound coil to extract an exceptional level of musical detail. The Ania’s sound is characterized by its balanced, articulate, and dynamic presentation, making it an ideal choice for listeners seeking a genuine high-fidelity experience without a prohibitive price tag.

Key Features

• High-Precision Moving Coil Design: The Ania features a powerful Neodymium magnet and a hand-wound miniature coil assembly, which is meticulously designed to reduce mass and resonance.
• Elliptical Profile Stylus: The cartridge is fitted with a high-quality elliptical profile stylus that ensures superb tracking and detailed retrieval from the record groove.
• High-Quality PSS Body: The Ania is housed in a rigid, glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide (PSS) body, which provides a lightweight and non-resonant platform for the cartridge's internal components.
• Advanced Mounting System: The 3-point mounting system provides a rigid and secure connection to the tonearm, ensuring optimal performance and simplified setup, especially on Rega tonearms.
• Hand-Built Craftsmanship: Each cartridge is painstakingly assembled by a team of skilled technicians at Rega’s custom-built facility, reflecting a commitment to quality and precision.

Engineering for Purity

The Ania's core engineering is focused on a single-minded goal: to create a cartridge that is as free from resonance as possible. By building the cartridge's internal structure on a custom PPS body, Rega ensures a lightweight and rigid platform that reduces unwanted vibrations. The ultra-low mass generator and miniature coil assembly work in harmony to move with incredible speed and agility, capturing the finest musical details with a transparency that is rare at this price point.

A Gateway to High-End Audio

For many, the Ania represents the perfect introduction to the world of moving coil cartridges. It offers a clear and significant upgrade in performance over many moving magnet designs, delivering a more open and dynamic soundstage. Its ability to create a three-dimensional and immersive sound, with tight bass and smooth, extended highs, makes it a highly compelling option for serious music lovers. The Ania proves that high-end analog audio can be both accessible and incredibly rewarding.

Rega's Three-Point Fixing

Rega cartridges use the company's proprietary three-point fixing rather than the universal two-bolt mount. On a Rega tonearm that makes fitting a direct bolt-on job, with overhang set automatically by the mount itself instead of by protractor. It is the reason a Rega cartridge is the simplest upgrade path for a Rega turntable. A universal-mount cartridge, Hana included, goes on any arm but has to be aligned the long way round.
