The first stage is a symmetrical, complementary Class A amplifier that uses ultra-low-noise FET transistors to ensure a pristine signal from the cartridge. The second stage, a symmetrical Class A differential amplifier, works to further amplify the signal with minimal distortion. Finally, the third stage inverts the signal to provide a balanced output, a feature typically found only in the most high-end audio components. This sophisticated design ensures the signal is amplified and processed with exceptional linearity and precision.

Uncompromising Power and Headroom

To handle the most dynamic musical passages without clipping or compression, the Aura MC features a symmetrical, discrete tracking power supply. This unique design provides a 60% higher voltage than typical phono stages, giving the unit a vastly increased amount of headroom. This allows the Aura MC to reproduce complex musical transients with ease, preserving the full dynamic range and impact of the original recording. The high-quality power supply is a key element in the Aura MC’s ability to deliver a truly lifelike and powerful performance.

Precision and Versatility

The Aura MC is not only a sonic masterpiece but also an incredibly versatile component. Its front-panel controls allow for precise adjustments to match most moving coil cartridges. You can select from a wide range of input load and capacitive load options, ensuring that the cartridge is operating into the ideal electrical environment. This level of fine-tuning is crucial for extracting the absolute best performance from your cartridge and maximizing your entire vinyl playback system.

Built to a Higher Standard

The Rega Aura MC is built to the company's "no compromise" philosophy. Every aspect of its design and construction is focused on sound quality. The unit is housed in a substantial, custom-engineered case that provides a completely stable and shielded environment for the sensitive internal electronics. The absence of superfluous gadgets or digital displays ensures that all power is dedicated to the audio circuit, resulting in a phono stage that is built for one purpose: to deliver an unadulterated, pure musical signal.

The Listening Room Difference

We’re a third-generation family business with a brick-and-mortar showroom in Chestertown, Maryland, and a reputation built on trust, not hype.
