This allows for a low-inductance, low-impedance generator, which results in a vastly improved high-frequency response. The miniaturized parallel coils, meticulously wound in-house with 38-micron wire, work in perfect synergy with the magnet to deliver a powerful, yet refined, signal.

The fine line nude diamond stylus is another standout feature. With an exceptionally small radius, it allows the cartridge to adjust to minute changes in the vinyl groove, retrieving extraordinary detail and dynamics that are often missed by other cartridges.

Design and Construction

Every Nd7 cartridge is meticulously hand-made by Rega’s skilled technicians. The lightweight, glass-filled PPS body provides a solid, non-resonant housing for the internal components. This design was inspired by Rega’s successful moving coil range and is engineered to reduce mass, which is critical for ensuring the tonearm can move freely and accurately across the record surface.

Sonic Performance

In terms of sonic performance, the Nd7 delivers a compelling and engaging listening experience. It is praised for its ability to produce a wide and precisely defined soundstage, along with exceptional clarity and detail. The bass is tight and controlled, the mid-range is rich and textured, and the high-frequency extension is smooth and natural. The Nd7 offers a true high-fidelity experience that rivals many moving coil cartridges, making it an excellent upgrade for any serious vinyl enthusiast.

Rega's Three-Point Fixing

Rega cartridges use the company's proprietary three-point fixing rather than the universal two-bolt mount. On a Rega tonearm that makes fitting a direct bolt-on job, with overhang set automatically by the mount itself instead of by protractor. It is the reason a Rega cartridge is the simplest upgrade path for a Rega turntable. A universal-mount cartridge, Hana included, goes on any arm but has to be aligned the long way round.

The Listening Room Difference

We’re a third-generation family business with a brick-and-mortar showroom in Chestertown, Maryland, and a reputation built on trust, not hype.
