It reimagines the legacy of REL's most popular model, the T/5, with a more powerful, faster, and deeper presentation. The T/5x features a down-firing 8-inch long-throw FibreAlloy™ driver, driven by a robust 125W Class A/B amplifier. Its brilliance lies in its simplicity and performance, delivering rich, room-filling bass that goes far beyond its modest size. Designed for seamless integration in small to medium-sized rooms, the T/5x is the perfect partner for high-quality stereo systems and dynamic home theaters, adding weight, texture, and clarity to all your audio.

Key Features

Compact Down-Firing Design: A compact, sealed cabinet with a down-firing driver, allowing for uniform bass energy dispersion and discreet placement.

8” Long-Throw FibreAlloy™ Driver: A fast, lightweight, and rigid 8-inch driver that delivers surprising depth and captures fine musical detail.

125W Class A/B Amplifier: A high-current, 125-watt (RMS) Class A/B amplifier provides the exceptional control and musicality that REL is famous for.

Legendary High Level Input: Features REL's High Level Neutrik Speakon input for a seamless, perfectly-timed blend with your main speakers.

Dual-Purpose Connectivity: Includes separate inputs for High Level and .1/LFE, allowing for a perfect tune for both music and movies without changing settings.

Optional Wireless Connectivity: Fully compatible with the optional REL Arrow™ wireless system for zero-compression, cable-free placement.

Compact Power, Hidden Depth

The T/5x's secret is its down-firing design. By mounting its 8-inch long-throw driver facing the floor, it uses the room's largest surface to spread bass energy uniformly throughout the space, making it perform like a much larger subwoofer. This design also eliminates the need for a grille, resulting in a pure, elegant, and modern cube that can be discreetly placed in any room. The cabinet, while compact, has been internally optimized with greater volume and new bracing to deliver a more fluid and powerful performance than its predecessor.

Agile and Articulate Driver

The T/5x borrows its 8-inch FibreAlloy™ driver from its larger sibling, the T/7x. This lightweight composite of aluminum and paper is incredibly stiff and fast, allowing it to retrieve fine details and musical cues that are often lost in "boomy" subwoofers. Upgraded suspension allows for greater excursion (throw), meaning the T/5x can play louder and dig deeper than its compact size would ever suggest, delivering bass with both finesse and genuine power.

The Heart of REL: Class A/B Power

While many subwoofers have moved to cheaper digital amplifiers, the T/5x stays true to REL's audiophile roots with a high-current 125-watt Class A/B amplifier. This traditional amplifier design is renowned for its reliability and, most importantly, its superior grip and control. It has the speed and dynamic headroom to keep the driver's movements precise, ensuring bass starts and stops with incredible speed. This is the key to its articulate, tuneful performance and its ability to blend perfectly with high-quality loudspeakers.

Seamless Integration for Music and Movies

The T/5x is designed to be the perfect partner for both two-channel music and home theater. It features REL’s legendary High Level Neutrik Speakon input, which connects to your main amplifier's speaker terminals. This ensures the T/5x receives the exact same sonic signature as your main speakers, allowing it to blend perfectly and add depth and scale to the entire soundstage. For theater use, a separate .1/LFE input can be used simultaneously, allowing you to have one setting dialed in for music and another for bombastic movie effects, with the subwoofer switching automatically between them.

The Listening Room Difference

We’re a third-generation family business with a brick-and-mortar showroom in Chestertown, Maryland, and a reputation built on trust, not hype.
