Building on the success of the Magnepan .7, the .7x is a two-way quasi-ribbon planar magnetic speaker that takes the two-way .7 platform and runs it through the full X-Series treatment. Upgraded crossover components, simplified circuitry, and tighter tolerances across the board. The result is a speaker with better clarity, sharper imaging, and more natural tonal balance.

Design and Build

The Magnepan .7x keeps the sleek, minimalist look of the .7 while incorporating X-Series materials and construction throughout. High-quality copper wiring and silver-soldered connections reduce resistance and signal loss. Gilded nameplate components add durability and a nice visual touch. The optional oval base complements modern decor, and the panel stands just over 54 inches tall and 15 inches wide.

Adding a Subwoofer

If you want more low-end weight below the panel's roll-off, a fast, musical subwoofer extends the bottom end without dragging on the panel's speed. We most often pair Magnepan with REL and Perlisten subwoofers, since both keep up with a planar's quickness rather than fighting it.
